Who we are

The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus was created in 1996 by women parliamentarians of all political parties. Its operational structure falls under the Standing Committee of Human Resources Social and Community Development.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
During the year 2009, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Standing Rules and Orders and Internal Arrangements approved the WPC to become a full standing Committee of Parliament, known as the “Parliamentary Standing Committee on Women and Gender. Both male and female Members of Parliament (backbenchers) will become members of the Committee. This process is already at an advanced stage and will soon become operational during the fifth Parliament.
